I know the hotel in Thailand has 220V 50A but I don't know if the plug will fit in the socket. My computer power supply says 110-240V 50-60Hz. Does anyone know if this will work properly?

The computer will be fine, the converter part is all built in there.
What you will likely need is a wall plug adapter. The kind where you put the end of you plug into another small plug with 2 round prongs.
For Phuket, I advise that you get a surge protector. They're at Radio Shack for about $20. There are a lot of thunderstorms, and sometimes the powers supply does go out unceremoniously.
Better safe than sorry, I never charge my computer without one.
I hope you enjoy your trip!
