We stayed at the Sheraton Krabi beach resort last year.
Once we found it, it was very nice. It's got a nice pool and is right on the beach as well. It's on Klong Muang beach. There are some nice pictures here- http://www.r24.org/reservethaihotels.com/krabi/sheraton/pictures/
You would probably not want to stay in Krabi town proper, as there isn't much to do, I mean it's nice for a day visit, but I think most people go to Krabi for the beautiful beaches.
