Travel To Ho Chi Ming, Vietnam

by Jose Maurette Garces on March 2, 2010

When you go away someone aboard you are always going to have to be careful about the different dangers that you might encounter. This is something that is mostly true when you are going somewhere in the third world where the populations are huge and the is less proper infrastructure in place. As such here are a few different tips on staying safe when you travel to Ho Chi Ming city.

The first thing that you have to be careful of are the motorbike cowboys. There are two things to be careful of here. First of all make sure that you are safe down on the waterfront where you will often, especially on sunday night, get lots of young people cruising around in big groups on their bikes.

As well as this you also have to steer clear of many of the motorbike taxi drivers in the area. This can be quite dangerous travelling on the back of one of these, and as a woman you should always try to avoid travelling along on one at all costs.

The second place to stay safe will be in your hotel. This will be in terms of thieves who operate in hotels and will look to break into people’s rooms and steal their valuables when they are not there. If you do go out look to make sure that you put all of your valuables into the hotel safe and find out about the hotel’s policy on theft and compensation.

The last place to be wary of is certainly somewhere where you could be injured and this is when doing something as simple as crossing the road. The streets in the city are so busy that often finding somewhere to cross safely can be a nightmare. As such you should look to keep an eye on the local and study their tricks. Most will simply gently get in front of the traffic and keep going as the cars drive round them.

These are 3 top safety tips when travelling to Ho Chi Ming.

Hanoi: One Of The Best Tourist Attractions In Vietnam

by J. M. Maurette on January 31, 2010

Hanoi Ahoy!

If you are looking for one of the best tourist attractions for your Vietnam holidays, Hanoi is probably it. This big bustling city may seem a bit confronting at first, but give it a week or two and it will grow on you. Visit the famous must see Perfume Pagoda, and nearby Ha Long Bay and Sapa. Another great tourist destination the Old District.

Northeast Vietnam

Get out and explore the wilderness! Find places that only a tiny percentage of tourists have ever seen. Jump into one of the four-wheeled vehicles provided for the purpose and discover regions such as Ha Giang and Cao Bang. The longer you go for, the more you’ll discover!

Hue

Hue is south of Hanoi, and is an ancient Vietnamese capital. You will want a few days to have a look around and visit some of the breath-taking temples in the area.

Hoi An

A lovely beach is just the first of many great attractions in this wonderful city. You will never grow tired of looking at the incredible architecture in the beautiful streets of Hoi An, or picking up tailor-made clothes at bargain prices.

Submerge yourself in Nha Trang

This large town has a number of excellent beaches. They are great for scuba diving, so you might want to stay four or five days to get the most out of your visit. If you don’t like scuba diving then a couple of days should be all you need to have a look around.

Saigon

Also known as Ho Chi Minh, this is the business center of Vietnam. If you thought Hanoi was loud and chaotic, this place is even more so! Like Hanoi, it has plenty to offer.

Mekong Delta

An experience like no other – find a boat and make your way down the Mekong Delta. Don’t forget to stop at some of the floating markets!

Phu Quoc Island – Leave the best for last

The island of Phu Quoc, which exists a little way south of Cambodia, is a tropical paradise. Crystal clear waters and endless beaches have not been spoiled by the rise in commercialism in the area.

Learn more about how you can enjoy this spectacular country at its best when you take Vietnam holidays. You can visit sites that are far off the regular tourist routes easily with tailor made holidays!

Special Considerations Are Required For Vietnam Travel From UK

by Jose Maurette Garces on January 28, 2010

According to the Vietnamese Tourist Authority, around 100,000 tourists from Great Britain will experience Vietnam travel from UK locations each year. Visitor restrictions there are very strict and visitors always need to be fully aware of the all the rules. It is crucial to have all customs and visa documentation in proper order.

To visit in Vietnam, prior to entry into the country, it is required to obtain your visa unless there have been prior arrangements made by a recognized tour operator or if you are officially considered to be a sponsored visitor. You will likely be denied entry into the country if you have a passport that is valid for less than one month past the date that your visa expires. You should thoroughly check for correct visa conditions that may apply.

Only one entry is normally permitted per visa. Those who plan to exit the country and re-enter again from a different country should make sure that they have a visa that will allow multiple entry situations. There are very harsh fines and even the possibility of imprisonment if you should overstay your allotted visa time.

If you have your passport lost or stolen, you will need to apply for both a replacement passport and a replacement Vietnamese visa from the authorities at the immigration department in order to be allowed to leave the country. This can only be taken care of during the normal government working hours and it usually will not happen for three to five days after the application. The Embassy nor the Consulate General can expedite the replacement of Vietnamese visas.

You need to have the form for customs you receive on entry to Vietnam, because this is required for you to leave the country. If you should lose your form, you could possibly be fined on leaving and also face having your personal belongings indefinitely confiscated. Be aware that this is another issue that the embassy is usually not able to arbitrate for you.

Most visits are trouble-free but it is advised to register your details with the British consulate. British nationals most commonly only need any consular assistance in Vietnam because of passports that are lost or stolen. Registration can better provide assistance for you in the event of an emergency situation. Remember too, Vietnam’s poor infrastructure makes it difficult to obtain prompt help outside of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Vietnam travel from the UK should usually go very smoothly, providing that visitors take the proper care to have their paperwork in order.

Whats So Good About Tailor Made Holidays To Vietnam

by Jose Maurette Garces on December 8, 2009

The incredible friendliness of a people, the collaged palate of different cultures, beautiful landscapes as well as country side and beautiful still beaches are something every tourist’s dreams of. There are very few countries that can boast all the above and Vietnam stands proudly among those few. Though you can plan your next holidays for Vietnam, why not go for tailor made holidays in Vietnam for a change.

A collaged palate of almost 52 different cultures, beautiful landscapes as well as beautiful country side along with beautiful beaches and dreamy weather and overly friendly people is not something every country can offer, Vietnam on the other hand stands proudly among those few who can, not only that but there is also the available option of a tailor made holiday to Vietnam available through various ravel agents.

The easternmost country in the south East Asian sub-continent, Vietnam supports a population of over 86 million people. The thirteenth most popular country has previously lacked in tourist traffic only in the monsoon season. Now even that does not happen people have recently found out that the beaches towards the central Vietnam are at their prime in the monsoon season.

There was a time when tourists avoided Vietnam in its monsoon seasons but quite recently even that doesn’t stop the tourists from Vietnam. As the word goes, the central Vietnam is at its best in the monsoon.

Tailor made holidays in Vietnam is probably the best kind of holidays you could provide to your family. Plenty of travel agents can help you in planning your vacation though it would be wise you shopped around first and get the bearing of the market.

The variety of accommodation is also virtually limitless; you can either live in a high luxury hotel in the middle of active civilization or go for the rather secluded hotels for that extra bit of privacy. Plenty of travelling agents can offer you the best deals for your tailor made holidays to Vietnam but it would be wise to shop around first before finalizing the deal. You never know what better deal you ma miss if you didn’t shop around.
