Things To Do In The Wirral

by Tom Doerr on March 14, 2010

Depending how much time you have you might just be able to fit in the vast mix of cultural and historical attractions in the Wirral, but if you’re not in a rush, it won’t be going anywhere.

The Benedictine Monastery, Birkenhead Priory should be top of your list, constructed around 1150 this is the oldest building on Merseyside.

A trip to Birkenhead wouldn’t be complete without a trip on the tram, taking the tram from Woodside Visitor Centre to The Old Colonial Pub you can take a guided tour of the heritage centre which is home to a collection of restored local busses, trams and working vehicles from the Wirral.

Britain’s oldest brick built lighthouse, Leasowe Lighthouse is the focal point of the Wirral coastline because of its position between the two major rivers, it’s not far from the maritime centre of Liverpool on one side and the natural attractions of the river Dee on the other.

In 1888, William Hesketh Lever built new factories in Port Sunlight, to house his workers he built Port Sunlight Village. Hundreds of homes, Schools, churches and hotels offer a beautiful setting for a stay in the Wirral or even just a visit.

Shore Road Pumping Station houses a selection of working examples of giant steam pumps built in the 1870s to pump water from the Mersey Railway Tunnel. Free admission allows you to see such great engines as the renowned ‘Giant Grasshopper’ and a variety of convincing period street scenes.

If you’re looking for something to entertain the kids, ‘Spaceport’ offers something a little more modern. A spectacular space museum, it will entertain the whole family. Admission is cheap and there is a lot on offer.

If the skies are clear and you want to enjoy the fresh air why not head over to Hilbre Island, it’s the perfect sunny day activity and you may just get to see the seals making a visit too. The only route to the island is to walk across the sand banks when the tide is down but be sure to check the tide times so you don’t get stuck or washed away.

Check with your doctor ahead of time to insure that regular seasickness drug will not have unexpected reactions with your other medication. While a Caribbean vacation may seem like a rare opportunity it is not the time to push yourself beyond your physical limitations.

The endless beaches and warm sun are by far the stars of the show. But you should definitely make time for water sports like diving glass bottom boat tours snorkeling and submarine tours. Luxury Suites What Options Are Out There?

by Adriana Noton on February 20, 2010

Any traveler, whether doing so for work or a vacation, wants to sleep in a great place. They do not want to arrive and discover the place is infested and lacking in all possible amenities. They want to know that the place they paid for is a nice quality accommodation. The amount of time they are staying is not important. Travelers want luxury suites that are clean and comfortable for reasonable prices.

When you decide on a place to stay, there are things that you both expect and deserve. A place that is not clean is never acceptable. Making sure your room is clean is certainly a priority. There are even places where it is common to share a room or bathroom, so you will want to check on the privacy available. And, of course, your top concern has to be safety.

Finding a place that fills your criteria can be difficult, especially when you are not familiar with the place you are going. You may find yourself unsure of who provides reliable accommodations and how to find them. You also do not want to arrive and find that, for whatever reason, your reservation was not held for you. Trying to find a new and decent place to stay can ruin your entire trip.

When you make your reservation, you will probably find that sticking with well-known options is the wisest choice. There are many places that have established their superiority in providing safe, clean rooms. You will also be sure that you have a room waiting for you, since they verify all of your reservation details.

If you use the Internet, discovering what choices are available is a much easier task. There are many websites devoted to this, they can help you find a good place to stay in almost any area. You can use them to find the best prices for nice places that have all the features you desire. Using them you will know all the important details ahead of time.

If you want to make sure you have a place to stay, you should also book in advance. Last minute bookings are not always successful for very popular areas at certain times of year. There may not be any rooms available that suit your needs. Rates for those who book early are usually much cheaper, which can save you a lot of money.

Sometimes, if you will be staying in a certain area for awhile, you may be better served to rent a furnished apartment. Many people offer these for people who are staying somewhere for a long period of time. It can be cheaper than a hotel room for a long-term stay and much more comfortable. There are many people that even rent a furnished apartment when visiting Canada, because of the convenience.

Wherever you choose to stay, you can find luxury suites that will not disappoint. Just remember to plan where you are going to sleep as carefully as you do the rest of your trip. It is vitally important to ensure that you have a clean, comfortable and safe place to rest your head!

If you’re looking for Short Term Rental Mississauga, you should consider a Toronto Short Term Rental. Also, requesting for an extended stay at a Corporate Housing Toronto is fairly easy. With furniture ready for you, you can just walk in with your luggage.

Blue Mountain Chalets: A Whole New World Of Family Fun.

by Adriana Noton on February 20, 2010

A holiday in the Blue Mountain area near Ontario in Canada will open up a whole new world of family fun. It doesn’t matter which time of the year you go, there will always be lots to do and to see. For the family man Blue Mountain chalets offer the best alternative by far.

If you are a family of four (or more), chalet accommodation will simply cost so much less than a stay in a hotel. If you stay in a hotel, you will need at least 2 rooms for four guests, which will hike the costs considerably. Four people staying in a hotel for a week or more will do serious harm to the family budget and eat away at money that you could have used to do the things that really make your holiday enjoyable.

If you stay in a hotel, you will also not have any facilities to prepare your own meals. That means you will be forced to eat all meals in either the hotel’s restaurant or at a restaurant in town. This will further escalate costs quite sharply and once again mean that you will have less money to spend on all the activities in the area.

Another factor that makes a chalet such a good choice compared to a hotel room is simply the issue of personal space. Most chalets are quite spacious. There will normally be an area where the family can relax, play games, watch television et cetera. The majority of chalets will either have a large counter with bar stools where the whole family can gather for a meal, or otherwise there will be a dining area.

In an area like Blue Mountain, which gets very cold in winter, many chalets offer a fireplace where the whole family can snuggle up on a cold evening. Somehow the heat provided by an electric heater simply doesn’t offer the same ambiance than a crackling log fire. This makes for quality family time that all of you will remember many years into the future.

Many chalets even offer facilities like a pool table where the family can keep themselves busy during a long evening when it’s perhaps raining outside. Some even offer private swimming pools and hot tubs. Those that don’t have private pools mostly have access to a communal swimming pool, which is great if you are visiting during summer.

Staying in a chalet doesn’t cut you off from the activities in the surrounding area. You can eat out every evening if you want and do so in a different restaurant if that’s your choice. There are sufficient restaurants in the vicinity to please every palate. If the children want pizza and mom and dad want a cozy candle-lit dinner, there’s no reason why everyone can’t have exactly what they want.

Blue mountain chalets are in many respects perfect for a family holiday. There are so much to see and to do in the area that nobody will ever be bored. There’s entertainment for all age groups and every member of the family will return home rejuvenated and ready for life’s challenges.

Planning to ski or snowboard but don’t have a place to stay? Save money by staying in Blue Mountain chalets instead of hotels. Enjoy the comfort of a home while being close to the mountain in these Blue Mountain accommodations. With breathtaking views and in an area with many unique experiences, you’re bound to enjoy yourself.
