All About Pump Paintball Markers

by Bob Pascal on February 12, 2010

Paintball is one of the sports which utilize guns as a main tool. Without these paintball guns, paintball will not be paintball because a paintball cannot shoot itself alone. Paintball guns or paintball markers, as how enthusiasts call it, were first invented in the year 1970 by James Hale of the Daisy Manufacturing and was first used as an instrument to make markings on trees and livestock by farmers and herdsmen. One type of paintball marker that arises after its conception is the pump paintball marker.

One of the disadvantages of using pump markers is that there is a necessity to use two hands for the equipment to work. Thus, a pump paintball player needs to avoid certain situations where he would not be able to utilize his two hands. Some of this situation is when he is in a consistent crawling position. Although it is not impossible to use pump markers in a crawling position, it is still advisable to avoid this certain situation because it would be difficult for the paintball player to maintain a steady rate of fire. It is also important to remember that pump markers does not automatically load a paintball after triggering it. It would be a good habit to re-cock the gun instantly after firing because if a player is caught one handed, he is still prepared to shoot to his opponent. Other points to remember in playing pump paintball are to be erratic enough to be able to look for opportunities to fire at the opponent and to take time to move around because staying in a place would make a player very easy bait.

One of the most common thought of paintball players nowadays is that pump paintball players cannot afford the automatic or even the semi-automatic paintball markers. However, we should take into account that the price in playing paintball does not matter but the way the game went through does. It is also quite ordinary that people relate pump paintball for old people because it is a game of the old days but this game is not only for old people. Actually, it is more suitable for players of young age because pump paintball requires much strength and skills.

Even though the techniques, skills and technology are present in a player, it would be put into waste if the player does not have the right attitude. The right attitude in pump paintball and in any paintball games is to be confident enough that you will win. Believing in winning is already a winning streak. Though sometimes a player may experience defeat, what is important is how he played the game.

Players should also keep in mind that playing hard for the game is what makes a paintball player a good paintball player. Slacking off would only lead to defeat so as much as possible, try to be more aggressive. Move quickly to gain a good position in order to take advantage over your opponent. Being stagnant would not do a player any good.

In playing paintball, it does not matter how many shots of paintballs a player can make. What counts is the way a paintball player utilizes strategies to win in the game. Anyone is capable of winning even with just a pump paintball marker as long as he knows how to use his brains.

Before you purchase any paintball equipment be sure to read what Bob says about pump paintball and the best pump paintball gun.

The Important Role of a Paintball Sniper in a Paintball Game

by Tom Park on February 9, 2010

A paintball sniper is the member of the team that is specializing in concealment tactics, and shoots the opposing team members using a one-shot fire using a paintball sniper gun. Its location must be somewhere the opponent will not discover him by masking himself with the use of the environment surrounding him; maybe shadows, bushes, or leaves. A sniper must be skillful to perform a strategic sniping tactic that will help the team win. He must also study the whole battle field beforehand so that he will know where to hide and shoot perfectly. The talents and skills of a paintball sniper are gained through experience and trainings. Patience and sensitivity with the environment is learned overtime.

There are two types of paintball sniper: the forward and the guard sniper. The forward sniper may be seen dispersing and hiding at the center of the battle field, while the guard sniper is hidden within the area of the base or the flag.

The forward sniper, usually at the start of the game forwards through the field, and the rest of the team will follow. They will perform their action tactics, while the forward sniper sets himself with concealment. He will wait patiently for the right time to take an action, keeping in mind that he has to target very carefully to make the opponent be shot using a single paintball as much as possible. If he is skillful enough, he can target the most experienced player in the field and shoot it. The rest of the team may have an easy time to take over the game and might actually win it. The forward paintball sniper must also cover his team mates once he sees that an enemy will shoot at it, but must keep his position steady. Once a forward sniper was spotted by an opponent, he must transfer immediately to a new hiding spot. That is the reason why every sniper must know the playing field by heart so that he can make the most out of it.

Gun. The paintball sniper gun must be light in weight as much as possible because being a sniper requires holding a steady, hiding position for a long time. The gun must also be easy to conceal with the color of the playing field. A black paintball gun is the basic color that is easily concealable. The trigger of the gun must be easy to pull, so that once a sniper is ready for the target, he can hit him at the right time. The gun must also produce a low firing sound, so that once the trigger is pulled, the opponent will not detect where the firing is coming from. A barrel can be a help with this. The barrel is where the paintball capsules pass through when the trigger is hit. The barrel must have holes or a porting tip to minimize the sound it produces. The barrel must also be compatible with the paintball capsule. When a paintball capsule is larger than the diameter of the barrel, it causes friction and makes the shooting range short. And also, if the paintball capsule is larger than the barrel, it might explode inside the barrel causing a faulty shot. If a paintball explodes inside the barrel, the succeeding paintballs will be affected, affecting the whole target shooting.

The presence of a paintball sniper in a paintball game is important. In fact, it is one of the most exciting and in demand players in the sport.

Of all these, paintball snipers must possess a keen eye to observe the battlefield, and must be sensitive to its surroundings. These two players sometimes are the key to win a paintball game.

Paintball Sniper Basic Equipments and Gadgets

by Peter Jackson on February 3, 2010

A paintball game would not be that fun if the paintball sniper player is absent. So here are some facts about the one of the most exciting position in the paintball field.

A paintball sniper really needs a good set of sniper guns. To be an effective sniper, he must be able kill the target in just one shot, so that the opponent will not discover its hiding spot. To accomplish this, he needs to have the important equipment that a paintball sniper uses, the paintball sniper gun. Though all of the paintball guns have the same distance range, it is still possible to do sniping with proper attachments to the gun.

In choosing the barrel part, take into consideration your playing style and the type of paint you will use. Barrels may be made from brass, carbon, or aluminum. The barrel is where the paintball capsule will pass through once you hit the trigger. When you choose the wrong kind of barrel in relation with the paintball you use, it might actually explode inside the barrel, or it might reach short from the target you desire. The length of the barrel usually does not affect the range of distance a paintball can travel. The most common length the paintball snipers use is a 12-14 inch barrel. The weight of the barrel must not compromise the whole weight of the sniper gun. Another consideration in picking a barrel is its ability to minimize the sound that it makes when a shot is released. A barrel with holes or with a porting at the tip will help to minimize sound it creates. The color of the barrel must help you with camouflaging. Avoid buying barrels with striking colors, and stick to the basic black or red barrels.

Camouflaging is another point that you have to consider. But you also have to consider the playing field that you will be playing into. When playing through bushes and greens, wearing black and green paintball suit will help you blend with the environment, which will help you in your silent attacks. Try not to dress a heavyweight suit that will make you uneasy all throughout the game time.

Camouflaging is another essential and an utmost vitality for accomplishing a job as a paintball sniper. Wearing an outfit that will not only protect you from the paints, but will also help you blend through the field is a good key. You may not need a real camouflage suit, you just have to use your creativity to provide a natural-looking camouflage, or you can advance in such an outfit for an extra sense of reality.

With these basic paintball sniper equipments, you are now ready to play paintball.

Before you start to learn about or purchase any paintball gear, be sure to read Peter’s reviews and tips about discount paintball sniper guns and paintball sniper guns.

Paintball Bunkers To Hide Behind Until The Time Is Right

by Reed Garcia on January 31, 2010

When you have a game of paintball you will want to make sure that you win, and the entire point of the game is to evade and attack your opponents. You will play paintball in teams and this means that you can work together as a team to win, or you can go at it alone. Part of winning is not getting hit with a paintball, so you should make use of the paintball bunkers.

If you do not have paintball bunkers you will leave yourself vulnerable to the other team, but then again, they will be open to your shots to. However, this does not make the game fair.

Playing on a paintball field that has one side with all the bunkers is no fun (unless your into the whole underdog thing). If you’ve ever played on a field that has holes in bunkers then you know how frustrating that can be too. The key is to make the field as consistent as you can, so that way both sides are balanced and no side has the upper advantage.

This is why consistent bunkers will come in really handy, because without them you may as well stand in front of each other and shoot out your paint bullets – not really fun. The whole point of the game of paintball is to evade and attack. This is why you will want to hide behind as many things as possible. This is also why you may want to get a nice, big combat zone.

Once you have all these things (a well balanced playing field, and a select number of consistent bunkers) you can get your game started and enjoy playing paintball with your friends and family every day or every weekend if you like.

When you have a private paintball game at your home you can easily use this for a bachelor party or the paintball can make a great game for when you have a party or barbeque. It is lots of fun for all.

Bottom line is, every field needs good paintball bunkers to be complete. You can either learn how to make paintball bunkers, or find some cheap paintball bunkers.

Paintball Masks – Just The Facts

by Donald Stevens on January 29, 2010

Protecting your face when playing paintball is a must. Wear a paintball mask to make sure you are protected.

One of the most important protective gears in playing paintball is a paintball mask. It helps you keep the paintball markers that fly up to 300 feet per second and the paint off your face. Its prices range from $20 to $100. Accessories like headbands or visors to provide shade from the sun may be attached to it.

To protect your face from paintball markers is the primary role of a paintball mask. It also protects you from the inhalation or the ingestion through the eyes, mouth, nose or ears of toxic paint. It also prevents sensitive and membranous areas in your face from getting hit or irritated by paint.

Head injuries from falling or tripping during a game are also prevented by a paintball mask. A paintball mask should be equipped with padding that gives you comfort and a snug fit on your head. The foam must shape itself on your face but return to its original form when the mask is taken off. It should also be firmly attached to the plastic of the mask.

The straps on your paintball mask must be tightened or loosened without the risk of maximizing the straps out. When you look down, the mouth guard on your paintball mask must not touch your chest.

A good paintball mask must be equipped with a thermal or anti-fog lens. This consists of two lenses with a space filled with air acting as a barrier between the temperature near your face and the temperature outside the mask. This prevents the moisture on your face from condensing on your lens.

You could also opt to install fans on your paintball mask, though not all masks readily allow fans to be installed into them. These fans go on top of the lens and help moisture from your face evaporate. These fans are pretty expensive and would require some batteries for it to operate. It also makes considerable noise and is not very durable.

Cleaning your paintball mask is important. First, take out most of the paint by running a rag over the mask. You can spray water on the paint to loosen it a little. Chemicals and lens cleaners can damage your paintball mask. So it is not advisable to use them.

Clean the little spaces and creases in your paintball mask. Take out the detachable lens on your paintball mask and clean its edges as well. This prevents paint from building up in these little spaces and trickling on you or down your lens later on. Use a microfiber cloth to wipe your lens. It helps absorb all the excess oil on the lens and give you a good view of the you opponent and your field during the game.

Before you purchase any paintball accessories, check out what Donald writes about the best paintball masks for sale and how to find a discount paintball mask.
