Thinking About Your Honeymoon? Look No Further… Spend it in the Maldives

by Julius Corinthius on March 16, 2010

The Maldives is a very popular place for honeymooners. For this reason, many resorts are typically booked year round so be sure to reserve early. The climate is temperate and stays quite tropical so you can travel there even during the winter months and still be quite comfortable.

Since it has a 5-star reputation, the Maldives can be a very expensive vacation destination. It’s really for tourists wanting a luxury getaway. Honeymoon in Maldives is very popular; however most people have to save up for years in order to afford spending their honeymoon there.

The Maldives touts some of the best and most sought after honeymoon resorts on the planet. Here’s a few examples:

- Vilu Reef Beach and Spa Resort – Banyan Tree Maldives – Vabbinfaru – Four Seasons Resort Maldives – Soneva Gili Resort and Spa – Vakarufalhi Island Resort – Mirihi Island Resort – Laguna Maldives – Olhuveli Beach and Spa Resort

Whichever resort you decide to visit, you’ll experience unrivaled service. Most honeymooners don’t want to leave after their stay comes to an end.

The Maldives provides an ideal and romantic place for honeymoons. There are no cars on the islands, thus they are devoid of noise caused by traffic. There is nothing more special than a cruising on a boat; gliding over crystal blue water while surrounded by a variety of aquatic fish and coral just under toe.

Private over-water bungalows are ideal for honeymooners. These bungalows are private, often come with your own white sand beach, and private lagoon for frolicking.

Consider visiting these two places while on your honeymoon:

Male – The capital city of this island nation is the most commercially developed. It’s one of the few places on the Maldives you can shop and eat outside of your resort.

Makunudu Island – Makunudu Island is famous for its golden beaches and palm tree lined walk ways. This is a romantic place that will make you feel like your communing with nature. The Maldives provides the perfect setting for the most romantic honeymoon the world has to offer.

Maldives honeymoons are very exclusive. If you’re planning a honeymoon in Maldives then get free information by visiting http://www.maldivesvacations.info/maldives-honeymoon.php

Taking a Holiday to the Maldives – Try Bandos

by Shelley Swartzer on November 8, 2009

Out of the handful of Maldives resorts I have visited so far I have to say that Bandos twice is without doubt my most favorite! In this article I have given a general overview for anyone considering visiting Bandos. Hopefully it will encourage you to find out more.

Bandos received a brand new look in 2005 after being closed for most of the year and has now become very popular for visitors to the Maldives, due in part since it is quite close to Male, and also because on top of a fine resort with great activities and facilities, it is also very family orientated.

There are two main restaurants on the island – the Cayenne Grill and the lighthouse – and I found the food and service to be good in both of them. The Cayenne serves a range of seafood, meat and vegetarian dishes which you can mix and match to your own tastes.

The other restaurant is the Cayenne Grill which prepares a range of meat, seafood and vegetarian options to your own requirements and presents this at one of the individual thatched pavilions at the waters edge.

My first impression of the resort was really good and it got even better when I saw my accommodation. The island has three different room categories – 30 water villas, 20 Baros villas, 24 Deluxe villas, and a single pool villa. The rooms are very stylishly done with plasma TVs, designer fittings, and of course a well-stocked wine cooler.

All rooms in the resort are in close proximity to the beach or lagoon. With a large comfortable verandah and 24 hour room service many guests tend not to stray too far.

The reef runs around most of the island and is easily accessible, making the snorkeling a delight here. There is a PADI dive school here offering open water courses and introductory dives for beginners in the lagoon. With over 30 separate dive sites within reach of Baros even the experienced diver cannot get bored here. The resort even has a resident Marine Biologist on hand, accompanying the snorkeling trips and excursions on the house reef and providing talks on the local marine life.

It is difficult to beat Bandos island resort for a Maldives holiday that will not break the bank, go on, find out more.

Shelley is a freelance writer and likes to provide tourist information for the island resort of Bandos and about Holidays in the Maldives in general.

Maldives Holidays – Bandos Island Resort

by Andrea Gail on October 9, 2009

Bandos island resort had refurbishment during 2005 which saw it not only receive a stylish face lift but also extend its exiting facilities and add extra accommodation.

The look and feel of Bandos is a natural balance between casual and formal, with thatched roofs but fine tiled floors, for example. Some of the rooms in the standard and junior class have an interconnecting door for families split between several rooms.

The main bar and coffee shop are well-placed near the water, and the bar is often a hive of activity until the early hours of the morning. The restaurants, while not particularly inspiring in their decor, do serve a range of quality dishes.

Since the resort is popular with families, children who are not quite old enough to take part in some of the older games and activities will probably find other children their age to play with. Visitors with young children need to be aware that the lagoon tends to deepen quite quickly so be careful when allowing you kids in or near the lagoon.

There are 84 standard rooms which affront the beach and an additional 19 that are not at the beach side. These alternate between double and twin bed layout to provide for families. There are also 48 circular-shaped luxurious Beach villas and 48 Junior suites.

Bandos is without doubt one of the focal points of diving in the Maldives, not least since it is one of the few resorts to actually have a decompression chamber. The dive center here is both a Platinum Facility of the International Association of Nitrox and Technical Divers and a PADI Gold Palm Resort.

If you plan to get married in the Maldives then Bandos is a good resort to look at, providing a traditional ?Kuda Bandos Sunset Wedding? ceremony and later, the newlyweds can enjoy a romantic private dinner set on the beach of Kuda Bandos.

Holidays To The Maldives Are Under Threat From The Sea

by Sarah Brooke on October 5, 2009

The Maldives archipelago consists of around 1200 islands covering an area of approximately 800 kilometers in the Indian Ocean, and they are generally thought to be some of the most beautiful tropical islands on our planet. These islands, and indeed this country, are threatened by rising sea levels since they are all only a couple of meters above sea level.

Even a small increase in sea levels, eg. half a metre would relinquish many of the islands back to the Indian Ocean, and make pretty much all of them virtually uninhabitable. Maldives islands such Bandos island, Baros island, Filitheyo island and Kuredu island which are popular destinations for thousands of visitors each years may be lost to the sea within a matter of decades.

Sea-level change isnt the only threat to these islands however, they are also under a real threat from an increase in sea temperatures. Increases in ocean water temperature can destroy coral reefs which are sensitive to change, and these play a large part in protecting islands such as the Maldives from waves.

Whilst global warming has tended to be a point of conjecture among environmentalists, the unprecedented event of the rapid melting of Arctic sea ice in 2007 has caused many environmentalists to agree that warming is not only inevitable, but is happening more rapidly than was originally suspected.

James Hansen, a leading climatologist, published a research paper in 2008 which demonstrated that the safe atmospheric limit for carbon dioxide in the atmosphere was 350 parts per million, anything higher bringing about a negative envrionmental impacts. The level of CO2 is already at a concentration of 390 ppm and rising.

The Maldives are not the only country under immediate threat, countries like Bangladesh are already suffering flooding to the sea levels have risen in the last decade; forests across western North America and Europe are succumbing to non-native pests that are moving into these warmer areas.

The recent pledge of the G8 nations to take measures to try and counteract temperature increase to only 2 degrees and atmospheric concentration of Carbon Dioxide to 450 parts per million hasnt placated many environmentalists. The fact that we are already seeing the negative effects of warming is has alarmed many who claim the figures are now out of date.

Later this month, over 100 world leaders will meet at New York for the United Nations Climate Change Summit. On 24th October 2009, the Maldives will hold the largest underwater political demonstration in history with snorkelers and divers taking banners down to the coral reefs as a reminder to everyone of what is at stake. We cannot be really how long it will be but it seems inevitable that holidays to the Maldives may be over in the future.

Travelling in Maldives can surely help you relax. The harmonious view there is composed by the limpidity of water and the serenity of the island. The sky and the sea simply fused together! This makes you feel like in paradise. You can enjoy whatever water sports there, swimming with baby sharks, diving, fishing…Just don’t miss anything!

When you just arrived the Kingdom of Tonga in Oceania, you will be welcomed warmly by the locals. They are passionate, simple and hospitable, hence warm every visitor’s heart. The Kingdom of Tonga is the least polluted country in the world, as there are very few factories. The Tongan work from the dawn till dusk. The place has a certain rustic charm which tempts many people to visit for relaxation.

When we were kids, we often dream to be the characters in fairy tales and live in castles like Snow White and the princes. In Fussen of Germany, there is a castle called Neuschwanstein Castle which will surely make you feel amazed. It is the most beautiful castle in Europe. Travelling and walking in the Castle, you will find your dream comes true!
