Visiting Manhatten at end of jan for 4 days with my wife

If you could be a little more specific on where you want to be in Manhattan.
Downtown – West side – Uptown.

HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT TO SPEND?
Rooms can vary from $90 to $3000 a night.
Are you looking more for the old fashinoned type hotel decor or is the new – metro look more your fit?
What do you mean by nice? Romantic? Fun? Good view??
